El miércoles se desarrolló en La Plata una reunión en el Ministerio de Trabajo luego de que el Grupo Dass anunciara el cierre de su fábrica en Coronel Suárez. Son 360 personas las que pierden su puesto de trabajo.
Del encuentro participaron representantes del gobierno provincial y municipal, del Grupo Dass. de la firma Adidas y del gremio de Unión de Trabajadores de la Industria del Calzado de la República Argentina. Desde la empresa ratificaron la decisión de carácter indeclinable de cerrar las puertas de la fábrica de manera definitiva.
La delegada del gremio, Mariela Holzman, describió que el panorama es “muy feo” y que la decisión por parte de los empresarios está tomada. De todos modos, el próximo 15 de enero volverán a reunirse en el Ministerio de Trabajo, aunque admitió que las expectativas de hallar otra salida son muy bajas.

Tildó de cruel la decisión de cerrar la fábrica porque en ningún momento previo a enviar los telegramas le pidió ayuda al municipio de Suárez o a la Provincia, ni expuso que estaba atravesando una crisis. En ese sentido, negó que la firma tenga problemas económicos y vinculó la decisión a una cuestión meramente económica.
En cuanto a Adidas (el calzado que se confecciona en la planta de Suárez es de Adidas), dijo que la empresa aclaró que no retiró su trabajo. “La pregunta es dónde harán los 16 mil pares que hacían en Suárez”, expresó. Holzman alertó sobre el impacto en la industria nacional de la apertura de importaciones que lleva adelante el gobierno de Javier Milei: “Habrá una fuga de trabajo nacional, nos quitan la posibilidad de trabajo”.
Si bien enfatizó que buscan todas las vías de contacto posible para encontrar alternativas para evitar el cierre de la fábrica, manifestó que las expectativas de hallarlas son bajas. “Vamos a velar por las indemnizaciones; la empresa afirmó que las pagará en tiempo y forma”, recalcó sobre el proceso que se inicia luego de que las y los trabajadores recibieron los telegramas de despido.
